Salvation is Forever? by Shalene Kearney

Jesus answered them, "I told you, and ye believed not. The works that I do in My Father's name, they bear witness of Me. But ye believe not, because ye are not of My sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them and they follow Me. And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand. My Father, who gave them to Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand. I and My Father are one." John 10:25-30(KJ21)

PLEASE SEE MY NEWEST POST "IS SALVATION FOREVER??" FOR CLARIFICATION OF MY ERROR. MAY GOD' BLESSINGS BE UPON YOU.

  1. Once saved always saved is further from what God teaches in His word. Yes Peter denied Christ 3 times but we see where he came back to Christ to do His will. You can not accept Jesus one day and live according to the flesh the rest, not repent or change your ways and expect to see God. This is a daily faith walk. That is why Paul said "I die daily". We have to choose every day to die to our will for His will. If we think our salvation from our youth or years ago will get us to heaven when we do not have a personal relationship with Christ now then we are deeply deceived. Jesus himself said "those that love me keep my commandments." Jesus said to Nicodemous, "unless a man is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God" Being born again is a rebirth from darkness into the light of truth. That is why the bible tells us "we become a new creation, old things pass away and all things become new" How can we say that we are born again when the truth is not in us- meaning that transformation is not evident in our daily lives. Confession into salvation alone is not enough to earn your ticket to heaven. You must believe in your heart and surrender to Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior. The word of God teaches us that when we stand before the Lord to be judged, what matters most is if we "knew Him" meaning did we have a relationship with him. What gives us the idea that because we said a prayer or even believed a long time ago but do not know the Lord now gets us to heaven?

Peter (the one who denied Jesus 3 times but repented) wrote in 2Peter 3:20-22
When people escape from the wicked ways of the world by learning about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up with sin and become its slave again, they are worse off than before. It would be better if they had never known the right way to live than to know it and then reject the holy commandments that were given to them. they make these proverbs come true: "A dog returns to its vomit" and a "washed pig returns to the mud"

    Hebrews ch 6:4-6 says
For IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to restore to repentance those who were once enlightened-those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come - and who then turn away from God. It is IMPOSSIBLE to bring such people to repentance again because they are nailing the son of God to the cross again by rejecting him, holding him up to public shame.

  2. I thank you Tara for correcting me in this, although, I must say, I am confused. Does that mean then that because I was a believer as a child and confessed with my mouth sincerely, and then turned away as an adult, and have now come back to God, and love Jesus with all my heart and All my soul, that I am not now saved??? Please help me to understand. I am going to edit this post to be blank temporarily, until I can find out the views of my pastor as well.

  3. This is a very interesting topic. I wish you had not taken the post off. I would have loved to read it. I was wondering just from what little you left on the post. If a person truly comes to Christ, then wouldn't they be inseparable from Him. Sure they may go through hard times and stray for a short while, but they'll go back to Christ eventually because once saved it's a part of you and Satan can only tempt you and try to ruin your life, but he can't have your soul.

  4. I have the same question as Shalene. A child has a simplistic view of Christ when they accept Him in their heart. But what if that child loses faith for a short while when they grow up? Did that mean they weren't saved as a child? If so, then wouldn't all children who accept Christ as a child not have salvation? I'm very confused. I have a basic understanding of what it means to accept Christ as an adult, but what about as a child?

  5. I'm still awaiting clarificaiton on this NYC. If I still had the post to share with you, I would (by email) but I don't anymore. :)

  6. Shalene, no, once you come back to the Lord all else is forgiven.
We live for him day to day with much effort, as none of us are perfect.
Your past is just that. the past, as God throws your sin in the sea of forgetfulness. Just move forward with him and don't look behind.
    You are doing great!
A very nice blog and God's blessings are certainly with you!

  7. The Bhagavad Gita can clear things up for you guys.

Nobody really understands what Paul was talking about for the most part.

The apostles in the first century thought Jesus was going to come back. They thought they were in the last days. If you read Acts and such with this in mind you will understand it better.

Shalene I did not read your post so I really don't know what you wrote.

Paul proved this stuff from the Hebrew scriptures, Evangelist could you do that for me. Acts 28:23

All of the Apostles only used the Hebrew scriptures. Yes the Commandments that Moses wrote down.

  8. I want to make a point here, before I get too many more comments. I publish all comments regardless of whether or not I agree with them. So long as they are not offensive or vulgar. By publishing a comment, this does not mean that I agree or endorse any person's comments. Just wanted to be clear on this. Blessings in Him

  9. I implore all that have commented today to read the entire book of Hebrews, preferrably in KJV, only because it is a bit clearer than some other versions (as far as accuracy and wording go) and let me know what you think. Is Tara correct, or do you get something else out of it. I am going to continue to read and pray on what the bible says, as I am not well enough versed to know all the answers without consulting His holy instruction manual. Blessings again. :)

  10. Shalene you are so thoughtful. I will just throw in tid bits here and there.

  11. A tough topic, Shalene. Can I say I admire you for removing the post until you have more clarity. That's really responsible.

    Some thoughts on this issue...

Many people seem to believe that Jesus can be Savior but not Lord. This flies in the face of what He teaches. To follow Him means faith in Him as Savior as well as acknowledgement of His Lordship through repentance and giving your life to Him as a daily living sacrifice.

The issue of once-saved-always-saved diminishes when people realise that being 'saved' is more than praying a prayer. Even Jesus tells people to consider the cost of being His disciple, that it is a narrow, difficult road, that they have to carry their cross.

For people who fall away, I would wonder, did they have that real relationship to begin with? As for child-like faith, remember that Jesus tells us to have faith like a child - the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.

At the end of the day, I am confused, but content in knowing that God sees the heart and is totally just and right in all He does.

May you know His leading as you tackle this. Tell us your conclusions! :)

  12. I will let you know my conclusions for sure. And Enlight, I was not necessarily referring to you. Although, as I've told you before, I won't always agree with what you are telling me, and I cannot endorse something without knowing it for myself. I do appreciate your comments and your input. I truly do. There's only been a couple times that I have not published a comment someone made and that's only because they spewed so much filth, there was no point. I always enjoy a good adult disagreement. :)

  13. Jesus is the Anointed King, Messiah means Anointed not Savior. That is where they get the name "Christ". meaning Anointed. Lord means Master, yes Jesus is the King and Master of the Children of the light.

Our world, which is under the power of the wicked ones, has taken the word Messiah and made it to mean Savior. It means Anointed. That is why Jesus came to the earth to be Anointed, Suffer, Die and Rose.
He is the King over the New earth and new heavens from what Peter and Issiah wrote. Which everyone will be tested at the time of the end.

I mean what are you saved from anyway? Matthew said the one who endures to the end will be saved. Matthew 24:13 Matthew 10:22.

This saved thing refers to the time of the end.
