Good News and Bad News

Hello My Dear Readers. As you know, I have been sick for a couple days. I am feeling much better now. That is one piece of good news. The second piece of good news is that my husband has grudgingly allowed me to begin home schooling our children. Now for the bad news. Because I will be dedicating most of my home time to teaching my children, for the time being at least, I will not be posting on this blog. This was a concession I made with my husband in order that I could assure my husband that the day would be dedicated to instruction. This is not a completely happy choice for me, but I know that my first responsibility is to minister to my family. I have really enjoyed ministering to others, but my family and my children must take precedence.

I will miss you all, and hope that at some point I will find the time to be able to continue to write for this ministry. I do ask for your prayers in this new and a little bit frightening adventure. I also ask that if there are any of you out there that are experienced with homeschooling (and especially doing so in California) that you share your experiences and suggestions with me. I can use all the help you can give. I love you all, and I will be praying for you all. Blessings to you all!

There is no "MORE" to this post.

  1. Thank you for visiting my blog. I love yours! I see that you are in about the same boat as me pulling my children from school to begin homeschooling. I was so scared! I felt like I was starting in the middle and didn't know where to begin. One by one, God brought people and websites to me to show me. He gave me wisdom as I prayed for it. There have been days where I have wondered what in the world I've gotten myself into but most days I am praising the Lord for the awesome opportuntiy He has given me to impact my children for Him. We serve an awesome God, He will carry your through!

  2. No, Shalene, say it isn't so!!

Seriously, I am happy that you are homeschooling your children. I'm sure some of it is just talk but I've heard some scary things about what is happening in California schools. I don't blame you a bit. I can't offer anything but my prayers. My kids are too young for homeschooling yet.

Please, please, please keep in touch!! Just because you are not blogging doesn't mean you can't visit blogs!! You are a sweet person and I hope we will remain friends. I always love your input and your kind spirit.

I wish you the best of luck and DON'T be a stranger!! :)

  3. Hi Robyn, well it isn't so, for now. It will be so in in the third week of January though, at least until I find out how much time and resources are required of me. Our children's educations are so important, and my oldest especially seems to be falling through the cracks, so to keep that from happening, we've come to this decision. Anyway, I will not be a stranger. I will still visit as many blogs as I can, and still do what I need to do. Blessings to you!

  4. This post makes me cry.

OK, that's exaggerating things a little, but I'm sad to hear that.

However, I applaud your courage to homeschool and I applaud your courage to take your children out of the God-less public school system to provide them an education well-anchored in the faith!

Family comes first, and I'll be most happy to read your posts whenever you can get to the computer to do so in future.

God bless you and your family, Shalene.

    Shalom Aleichem.
