ARGGGHHH! I Did It Again!!!

A few days ago, I wrote a post that was not intended to be a debate in any form. It was only intended to share information, and to maybe get people to ask questions too, in the hopes that they would look to God for the answers. Unfortunately, I slipped again, and in engaging a person in the comments, I ended up "casting pearls before swine."
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. Matthew 7:6 KJV
In my zeal to share my love of God, and defend my faith, I find that I do this much more often than I would like. And, for that matter, much more often than God would like. I guess I still have a long way to go in this matter. So I will be meditating on these Scriptures for awhile, and praying before I respond for even longer. :)
He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked [man getteth] himself a blot.Proverbs 9:7 KJV
Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. Proverbs 9:8 KJV
Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words. Proverbs 23:9 KJV
Perhaps I need to spend some more time in Proverbs, huh? Have you ever fallen into this trap? That's what it is you know. A trap that the deceiver lays for all of us. He knows we want to spread the Truth. He knows we won't always be able to abstain from commenting when others attack our faith. I think the thing that gets me most of the time, is I truly just want to love them unto God. And I get so frustrated that they just don't want it. How can you not want God's love??? I know, I know. I was there once, and I haven't forgotten, but if I can be convinced, why can't they? (That's a rhetorical question and a question that I'm sure God will reveal to me, when my time comes, and I'll be eagerly awaiting that knowledge.) So, having said that, I think I'll go do some praying, some repenting, and putting some deeper thought into what I say on this blog. The last thing I wish to do is get myself a "blot." :) If you've ever found yourself in this situation, perhaps some Proverbs would do you some good, as well. Blessings to you!

  1. Alas, if only more would want to show our Heavenly Father's grace and humility. Thank you so very much for doing so.

  2. I'm glad your faith is strong. Tonight I have a formerly Catholic nephew marrying a Morman girl, and they're having a reception (on a Friday during Lent) with meat, and no coffee, tea or booze. My Catholic family is insulted. They weren't even allowed to attend the wedding ceremony, but were expected to provide gifts. What do you think? See what I think at peoplepowergranny.blogspot.com, and vote in my poll on when it's proper to play by the rules.
