Color Me Beautiful Award
I just wanted to thank Carol for her kind words and to first of all, "award" her in return. I think she deserves this award just as much, if not more than I do, and I don't care if she did create it. She deserves it.
Next, I'd like to award my husband, Bobby, at Christian Humor, because he has stood by me when most would not have, and because he is just who the Lord knew I needed as my mate and partner for life. I love you, honey!!
There are others that I would like to award too, but I just don't have enough space or time to type all of them out. If you have written me words of encouragement, in the last 4 months, consider yourself awarded. I love you all so much (even the ones that are visiting for the first time) I don't know what I'd do without my bloggy friends. Blessings to you all!!! God is good!!!

One of My Favorites
I have received a few awards since I started this blog, and they all mean something to me, but today I was given an award that really makes me smile, and I think it will certainly be named among my favorites. Michelle over at In the Life of a Child awarded me with this award today.

Thank you so much Michelle! You lift me up too! That's what cyber friends are for, right? Or any other kind of friend for that matter. You are such a blessing to me.
Now since I don't know what the "rules" are for passing this along, I'll go with however many people I can think of that are worthy of this award, before I am finished with this post. It may be many, it may be a few. If I've left you out, please don't think that I think any less of you, I just have so many blogging buddies, that if I listed them all, I'd be writing all day. As a mother of four and a wife, if I want to remain so, I better not stay on the computer all day. :) With that said, on to the award recipients.
Piper of Bliss in Bloom, for her spunk and desire to glorify God in her life and in her children's lives.
Dana Pellerin, of our very own church, because he just seems to have a way with words. Not always the way I would put it, but anyway. I don't know if he does these award things, but I'm awarding him anyway.
Michael Moore, from Living Water for Those That Thirst, because he has such faith despite so many challenges. He inspires me.
ComfyDenim from Notes From the Laundry Pile, just because she's funny, and she's a mom with a great outlook. Love this blog!
And lastly, but certainly not least, Robyn from Overflowing Grace because she's such a great cyber friend. She emails me just to ask how I'm doing, she lets me use her articles, and is totally selfless. She is an inspiring woman with two little ones, and yet she finds time to lift everyone up that she comes into contact with.
Bless all of you, and congratulations on your ability to "Lift Me Up"!!!

Awards and Such
Hello All,
I am going to post right now about an award I received from Leeann from The World Through The Eyes of Me. I thank you very much for this award Leeann, and I am extremely humbled by it. However, I must say. I'm becoming a little embarrassed by all the awards on my blog and all the posts I've written about them. This blog was never intended for my glory, but for His, so therefore, though I am grateful for the award, I am not going to post it on my blog, outside of this post, nor am I going to pass it on. There are so many people that make me smile, that it just wouldn't be fair to all the others that I can't pass it on to. Also, I wonder if there aren't others that may feel the same way I do about displaying awards on their blogs as well. Thank you everyone for the awards that you have given me, and please dont' think me ungrateful. I just want to get back to the purpose of this blog. Blessings to you. May the peace of the Lord be upon you. Forever In Him, Shalene

What Is A Disciple? by Shalene
What exactly does it mean to be a disciple of Christ? Does it mean to merely share the Word of God, or does it mean to share God with others? Simply put, to me, being a disciple of Christ means to not only lead other to Him, but to help others to lead even more "others" to Him. Yes, it is part of the Great Commission- Jesus' last instruction to us to share the Good News with all. Therefore, I take my role in this instruction very seriously.
Because of this, I am beyond humbled to have been one of the first recipients of a brand new award being passed out. It is the "Mathetes Award", created by Dan King of Management by God to recognize those who take to heart the Great Commission and further God's Kingdom by creating more disciples for Him. According to Dan (and I trust him on this) mathetes is the Greek word for disciple. The rules for the award, as posted by it's creator are as follows:

Here are my five awardees as disciples of Christ:
1. Robert of Mulled Vine
2. Carol of The Bible Thumper's Soapbox
3. Hannah of In Spirit and In Truth
4. MirroredGrace of Mirrors...Reflecting Upon God's Grace
5. DM of Heart to Heart
Thank you to all of you that brighten my day with your own ways of making disciples of the nations. Blessings to you my siblings in Christ. May the Peace of the Lord be upon you.

In the spirit of this award, the rules are simple. Winners of this award must pick five other "disciples" to pass it on to. As you pass it on, I just ask that you mention and provide links for (1)this post as the originator of the award (Dan King of management by God), (2) the person that awarded it to you, and then (3) name and sites of the five that you believe are fulfilling the role of a disciple of Christ.

Caution: Schmoozer Sightings Reported in the Area!

I have been given what some might consider the dubious honor of being dubbed an Award Winning Schmoozer. I choose to see this as a high honor indeed.
“The Power of Schmooze” award was created by Mike at Ordinary Folk and Danielle at Pink Reviews to help “recognize those people that were [are] exceptionally adept at creating relationships with other bloggers by making an effort to be part of a conversation, as opposed to monologue.”
The rules:
If, and only if, you get The Power of Schmooze Award, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think, or have schmoozed you into submission.
Link to this post and Mike so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme
Optional: Proudly display the ‘The Power of Schmooze Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote.
This award was passed to me by Beverly of Perpetual Expressions. I am honored and humbled that she thinks me such a great schmoozer. :) I do think of this as an honor. My husband and everyone I know personally, know that I have the "gift of gab" but it's nice to know my virtual friends think so too.
Without further ado, I'd like to announce the blogs and bloggers that I would like to pass this honor on to. (Although, I have to say right here that Beverly stole two of the blogs I would have mentioned, and I'm assuming we can't give to blogs that have already received this distinction...) :)
1. The What If... Women is actually a group of 5 women- Lori Arriaga, Randee, Lynn, Norka, and Anne Goodrich- that take a day to say What If.... Sometimes they're funny, sometimes enlightening, but always inspiring in the way that they encourage and uplift one another in their messages. And they always manage to glorify the Lord. They were the inspiration that got me really blogging for the Lord. For this reason, I nominate them. Congrats and hugs, ladies.
2. Management by God is written by Dan, and is a great resource for anyone that has ever wondered how to handle workplace issues with a Christian attitude and mindset. Especially when it comes to management and supervisory issues. He's an up and coming blogger, who is always willing to lend a hand or word of advice whenever I've asked. So for these reasons, I nominate him.
3. Christian Personal Finance is written by a great guy who just wants to share biblical financial advice, so that we all in the end can be told "Well done my good and faithful servant." His applications are both well founded, and sometimes off the wall, but after you read a few of his posts, you realize, this guy really knows what he's talking about. For this reason I nominate him.
4. At the Study is blog written by a young college student named Harmony. She gives reviews and such for movies, books, and she has a nice collection of photos on another blog as well. She visits my blog often and is always willing to interact. For this reason she gets my nomination. My only regret is that she no longer posts to her blog Harmonious Glow Writings. :( Congrats Harmony.
5. And last, but certainly not least, I nominate and pass the schmoozer award to Shirley of Unmasking blog. She is a wonderful lady that has an infectious love of God and the world around her. She visits my blog often, and I have to say right here, that I have to admit that I don't visit her blog often enough. I plan to remedy that right now! Congrats Shirley! Hugs from your sister in Christ.
