I am going to post right now about an award I received from Leeann from The World Through The Eyes of Me. I thank you very much for this award Leeann, and I am extremely humbled by it. However, I must say. I'm becoming a little embarrassed by all the awards on my blog and all the posts I've written about them. This blog was never intended for my glory, but for His, so therefore, though I am grateful for the award, I am not going to post it on my blog, outside of this post, nor am I going to pass it on. There are so many people that make me smile, that it just wouldn't be fair to all the others that I can't pass it on to. Also, I wonder if there aren't others that may feel the same way I do about displaying awards on their blogs as well. Thank you everyone for the awards that you have given me, and please dont' think me ungrateful. I just want to get back to the purpose of this blog. Blessings to you. May the peace of the Lord be upon you. Forever In Him, Shalene

I like the way you think babe. It is not for our glory, but for His. Our reward is the fellowship and the growth that we experience. Although, i'm probably saying this because I haven't received one. Just kidding.
ReplyDeleteAll my love to you babe!!!
And all my love to you. You know, though, if a little birdy hadn't also mentioned this when I said I was getting a bit embarrassed by all the awards, I don't know how I would have approached it. Thank you "Birdy" I love you!

ReplyDeleteDid someone take a hoover to your blog?
ReplyDeleteILUSM!!!!
Amening this post. :) My sentiments exactly.
ReplyDeleteActually, I rather hope that any blogger awards I do get will be after I die, when hopefully, 'well done, good and faithful servant' will apply to the blogging sphere as well.
The various blogging awards are obviously meant to acknowledge someone whose blog has blessed or amused or touched you. They are also designed to introduce readers to new interesting and fun blogs.
ReplyDeleteI worry, however, that as they are passed around so freely they lose any real meaning. And, as you so eloquently said, we desire that the glory goes to the Lord and not to our humble blogs. :)
At the same time, I feel very priviledged when someone recognizes my blog, especially a new reader.
Interesting discussion. Even if I'm only having it with myself. Rambling aloud and all of that. Ha!

I do appreciate the awards very much! I just don't want to glorify myself, because without Him giving me the talents, and the direction, there would be no blog to award on my part. Blessings to all of you.
ReplyDeleteShalene,
ReplyDeleteI agree whole heartedly. That's why you don't see anything of the kind on my blog. I posted in a post just about the nice award you shared with me. But that was just something to say thanks to some nice people. That's as far as I take it.
All the glory is to a sovereign God [YHWH].
