Thinking of Girls' Names

Yes, it's a bit early to be thinking of names, I mean, come on! I am only 1 month pregnant, but we're doing it anyway. Then of course there's the fact that I'll probably change my mind 10 times before the baby's born. We already know what we'll name the baby if it's a boy, so no problems there. But a girl, well that's the fun part.

I like unusual names. My husband likes to make up unusual names. So out of the four children we already have, only one has a very common name, and the other three have uncommon, if not unheard of, names. I like it that way, since mine is unusual as well. Here are some of the names that I've come across, and thought I'd put it to you readers. What names do you like? (I'm including what the names mean if I know.)

Aislinn-"a dream, a vision, inspirition"
Quinn- "wise, queen, 5th born"
Aithne-"little fire"
Caoimhe-"gentleness, beauty, grace"
Shyla-"loyal to God, strong"
Ariene-"silvery"

I used to like Rhiannon, until I found out it meant "witch." I'm fond of Celtic, Gaelic, and Welsh names as you can probably tell. If you can think of any other uncommon, pretty girls names that you'd think I'd like, feel free to let me know that too. I'm going to close this post for now, because I'm feeling a little icky today. I pray for all of you, and ask for your prayers as well. May the peace of the Lord be upon you.

There is no "MORE" to this post.

  2. Shalene, I'm an old, slow guy, but I finally got around to commenting (even if all THREE of my typing fingers get tired)! God has blessed you with some precious children and I want you to know we have been praying for you and your coming child at FFWBC! Thank you for your prayers, also!
It seems precious premies are on our minds alot between you and all of us here. Pastor Vic was blessed by God with a healthy, albiet premature grandson, Luke just over an hour ago!
Thank you for sharing so much with the world - your wisdom and your ministry! You're helping to keep us in the Word!

  5. Great pics. My eldest daughter's name is Bronwyn which is a Welsh name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Branwyn is a variation.
